September 2nd 2008 08:41
Chievo have completed a final day transfer coup, by bringing in young Brazilian sensation Kerlon.

Kerlon performing the famous seal dribble

Better known for his famous seal dribble, Kerlon will join up with the newly promoted Serie A side shortly to start his Italian football career.

Kerlon, age 20 has a very bright future a head of him, regarded by many as the 'Next Ronaldinho' he has big shoes to fill. He has been sidelined from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee, which occured in March 2007.

He has returned since then to play competitive football, but injury problems still hoover over him. Chievo will be hoping they can get the best out of Kerlon, and help him recover to produce his early brilliance.

Kerlon who is still awaiting the chance to represent Brazil at senior level, has played for Brazil from U15 to U20.

His famous seal dribble will be very much awaited for at the Stadio Bentegodi, the move see's Kerlon dribble the ball up to his nose. Once it is there he bounces it off his forehead while running the field, and the only way to stop him is by giving a foul away.

Chievo's signing of Kerlon was the fourth for the afternoon, PSG defender Mario Yepes, Roma striker Mauro Esposito and Club Atlético Tigre defender Santiago Morero all pledging there future to the club.

Dare to dream, Queens ready for Danes

August 26th 2008 06:41
Queen of the South attempt to make football history tonight as they board a flight & head for Denmark, where they will play there return UEFA Cup match against FC Nordsjaelland.

Queens who had never played European football before in the clubs history, reached the competition by being the runner up in last seasons Scottish Cup final.

Queens midfield Steve Tosh

Queens midfielder Steve Tosh spoke to BBC about the up coming match "We are there on merit after what we achieved last season," Queen of the South midfielder Tosh told BBC Sport.

"We don't want to come in for just one game and get knocked out."

Queens will try and do what no other Scottish team has done in European football, no team in Scotland has ever come back from losing the first leg of a European tie. But the Dumfries based club are very confident of defying history, and coming back to Scotland with the next round of UEFA Cup action firmly in there sights.

Queens will be boosted by the poor form which Nordsjaelland has shown in recent weeks, where they have struggled in competition & recently lost to Sonderjysk 1-0 just last week.

The Doonhamers on the other hand, have started to show the form which seen them advance into the Scottish Cup final last season. Two recent clean sheets, and gusty wins over Partick Thistle & Dunfermline have lifted the spirits in the south of Scotland.

It is a big occasion not only for Queens but Scotland football in general, with 1,000 traveling Doonhamers making the trip to Farum Park they are sure to make some noise & do the country of Scotland proud.
